Children often find it fun to decipher road signs with place names during long car trips.

Children from group 3, their parents and / or older brothers and sisters.
What can we do
Point out road signs to your child and ask whether they can read the place names on them. With the car driving by in meantime, the words must be read quickly so, depending on how fast your child already reads, perhaps you can ask them to read only the first town indicated.
If your child can’t immediately read what places were on the signs, you can try again when the place names are repeated on the exit signs. Can you read the city name this time around? Who was the first to read all the names on the board/sign?
Extra: You can also ‘practice’ the meaning of traffic signs; What does this sign mean? This way, your child will learn to articulate their words in a playful manner. Also educational for parents!
