What is it?
The concept of ‘contradictions’ is explained with the help of a (Dutch) song.
For who is it?
Children from group 3, their older brothers / sisters, and parents.
What can we do?
Make a game of it at home. For example, identify the things around you while you are having dinner. Such as:
- a glass (the glass is full) and its opposite: the glass is empty)
- Big – small / top – bottom / light – dark.
Ask everyone at the table to come up with a contradiction. Who can think of the most opposites as well as the most surprising ‘contradictions’? Extra: Print the text of the song The World Upside Down for your child. Together you can read it and then sing it. Because your child sees and hears the song in different ways, they will progress even more rapidly
