You can try this exercise with your child in the house as well outside. Look around you, wherever you are (kitchen, living room, bathroom). Mention some of the items around while practising Dutch and ask your child a question like: “Hey, I see a pan! How do you call it? De pan or het pan?”

“What a nice sofa do we have, don’t you think? Was it de sofa or het sofa?” “Are you going to brush your teeth? With de borstel or het borstel?” This way you can exercise with all objects you have at home.
