What is it?
Children often have a song in their mind (adults too, of course!). It’s wonderful to hear children singing of their own will and should always be encouraged, especially as music is a great way to increase their vocabulary.
However, it often appears that children only know the first line of a song, given that they tend to repeat the few words/lyrics they know well! So to avoid it becoming too repetitive, study and repeat the lyrics together. The more they listen and repeat the faster they will learn the whole song.
For who is it?
For children and parents of all ages.
What can we do?
Check if you can find the lyrics of a song and print these and sing the song together. (If you wish with a Karaoke version on YouTube).
If your child can read, read the lyrics together.
